Long Wait Times at the Tarajal Border During Holiday Bridge
The recent holiday bridge, encompassing non-working days on Monday and Tuesday, followed by a public holiday on Wednesday for the Feast of Sacrifice, has resulted in significant congestion at the Tarajal border crossing. Travelers have faced extensive queues and prolonged wait times while attempting to cross into Morocco, whether by car or on foot. From early Saturday morning, an influx of individuals and vehicles drastically increased crossing times, prompting the Government Delegation to implement constant monitoring on-site.
In a message shared on social media, the Delegation expressed gratitude for the tireless efforts of the National Police, whose agents have been working non-stop to ensure order, smooth traffic flow, and the safety of everyone involved. The message also acknowledged the contributions of security personnel and staff from Amgevicesa, who provide services at the border and assist with the organization of vehicles.
Between Friday afternoon and midday Saturday, the wait times for crossing into Morocco reached over eight hours. Fortunately, conditions improved late Saturday as additional lanes were opened in both directions, with Moroccan police collaborating to expedite the transit process.
While most residents of Ceuta planning to spend these days in Morocco have already made the crossing, the Government Delegation continues to advise travelers to check the wait times at the Loma Colmenar holding area through the official link before embarking on their journeys.
