Controversial Moroccan YouTuber Arrested for Cooking a Dog During Celebration

Outrage Over Disturbing Video of Animal Cruelty

A recent incident involving a Moroccan YouTuber known as Bn Nsns has sparked widespread outrage across Morocco. This controversial influencer shared a disturbing video on social media, in which he filmed himself cooking a stray dog that he had found dead on the road. The shocking footage quickly went viral, eliciting strong reactions from animal rights organizations, including the Moroccan Society for the Protection of Animals (SPA). In response to the public outcry, the SPA filed a complaint against Bn Nsns for alleged animal cruelty, which ultimately led to his arrest.

Legal Action and the YouTuber's Response

Ayoub Bn Nsns, who boasts over 2.2 million subscribers on YouTube, was apprehended by Moroccan authorities following the release of the video recorded on May 27, coinciding with the Muslim holiday known as the Feast of the Lamb, or Eid al-Adha. In his video, Bn Nsns claimed that the festival inspired him to cook the dead dog, referencing the rising prices of lamb during this significant time. However, due to the backlash, he swiftly deleted the controversial video from his channel, while retaining another clip that documented the moment he discovered the animal's body. He also stated that he did not kill the dog, but rather found it dead after it had been hit by a car.

The Moroccan SPA expressed that Bn Nsns's arrest marks a significant step forward in ensuring that animal cruelty complaints are taken seriously and prosecuted under the country's laws. This incident adds to Bn Nsns's history of controversies, which include consuming exotic animals and engaging in dangerous stunts that often jeopardize his safety. Notably, in August 2025, he sparked a diplomatic and security conflict between Morocco and Spain when he attempted to illegally swim to the Spanish-controlled Chafarinas Islands while filming the escapade.
