Major Security Operation Leads to Arrest of 11 Suspects with Dual Nationalities

The General Directorate of National Security has announced that a significant security operation conducted in close coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance on Monday, June 8, 2026, resulted in the arrest of 11 individuals. Among them, ten hold dual nationalities, including Moroccan, French, Belgian, and Dutch, alongside one French citizen. These arrests were made as they were subjects of national and international search warrants.

An official security statement detailed that these simultaneous interventions, executed in the cities of Tangier and Marrakech, successfully apprehended the suspects after a database check with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) revealed that ten of them were listed in red notices issued at the request of judicial authorities in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

The report indicated that six French citizens of Moroccan descent are wanted by French authorities for their alleged involvement in criminal activities related to money laundering and connections to criminal networks engaged in drug trafficking, fraud, and scams. Additionally, three Belgian citizens of Moroccan origin are being sought by Belgian judicial authorities on suspicions of international drug trafficking.

The operation also led to the arrest of a Dutch citizen of Moroccan descent, who is likewise the subject of a red notice from Interpol due to suspicions regarding his involvement in international drug trafficking and money laundering activities.

In a related context, a French citizen was apprehended after it was revealed through the national security database that he is the subject of a national search warrant issued by the National Judicial Police Brigade for suspected involvement in a money laundering case.

The searches conducted as part of these security operations yielded the seizure of luxury cars, motorcycles, watches, personal belongings, as well as substantial amounts of both national and foreign currency, bank cards, mobile phones, doses of cocaine, and passports and identification documents belonging to the suspects.

All detainees have been placed under custody, supervised by the relevant public prosecutor's offices, to facilitate further investigations and uncover any potential extensions of these cases. Legal procedures are being initiated in accordance with national legislation, particularly given that several suspects hold Moroccan nationality.
