As the joyous occasion of Eid Al-Adha approaches, Morocco's National Motorway Company (ADM) has issued a critical warning to all motorists regarding expected heavy traffic across the nation’s highway network. This period marks one of the busiest travel times of the year, and ADM is urging travelers to exercise caution and plan their journeys accordingly.
According to a statement released by ADM, significant traffic congestion is anticipated on Monday, May 25, and Tuesday, May 26, particularly between the hours of 3 p.m. and 10 p.m., which align with peak travel times as families embark on their holiday journeys. Furthermore, another surge in traffic is expected on Sunday, May 31, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., as travelers return home following the Eid celebrations.
To mitigate the impact of traffic delays, ADM encourages highway users to proactively plan their trips and to stay informed about real-time road conditions by utilizing the ADM Traffic mobile application. Additionally, the company advises motorists to ensure their Jawaz electronic toll passes are checked and recharged prior to departure, which can be conveniently done either via the Jawaz app or at designated shops situated within highway service areas.
In its commitment to ensuring road safety during this bustling holiday period, ADM emphasizes the importance of remaining vigilant, particularly in relation to weather conditions that may include strong winds, rain, or fog. Motorists are reminded to take regular breaks every two hours to rest, check their vehicles for mechanical issues—especially tires—and to refrain from using emergency lanes unless absolutely necessary.
To further enhance safety and traffic management, ADM has implemented a comprehensive vigilance strategy for the Eid period, which includes the deployment of reinforced traffic management teams, ongoing preventive maintenance operations, infrastructure monitoring, and improved coordination with all partners involved in the national highway network.
