Air Transat Launches Exclusive Montreal-Agadir Route

Air Transat's New Direct Flight Connecting Montreal to Agadir

On June 12, 2026, Air Transat proudly inaugurated its new non-stop service between Montreal-Trudeau (YUL) and Agadir (AGA) with the inaugural flight TS492. This marks a significant addition to Air Transat’s offerings, making Agadir the second Moroccan destination accessible directly from Montreal, following Marrakech (RAK). This seasonal service is scheduled to operate weekly on Fridays until October 23, 2026, thereby enhancing travel options for Canadians seeking to explore Morocco.

Strengthening Exclusive Access to Morocco

By launching this new route to Agadir, Air Transat aims to reinforce its exclusive access to Morocco while expanding its footprint on the African continent. According to Sébastian Ponce, the Chief Revenue Officer at Transat, this new service is a response to a growing demand and plays a crucial role in promoting tourism and fostering closer ties between communities in Canada and Morocco. The flights will be conducted using the Airbus A321LR and will be available in both Economy and Club Class, catering to a diverse range of travelers looking for comfort and convenience.

Moreover, the introduction of this direct flight has been met with enthusiasm from various stakeholders, including ADM Aéroports de Montréal. Karl Brochu, Vice President of Operations and Air Development at ADM, emphasized the importance of this new connection, stating that it allows travelers to discover a sun-soaked destination renowned for its stunning beaches and rich Moroccan culture. He further highlighted that this route would not only boost tourism but also enhance economic, cultural, and familial exchanges between Quebec and Morocco.

In addition, the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) expressed its excitement over the new link, which bolsters air connectivity between Canada and Morocco. Siham Fettouhi, ONMT's Director for the North American market, noted that as the geographical and cultural distance between Canada and Morocco continues to shrink, this new service celebrates the unique experiences and destinations that make every journey to Morocco unforgettable for Canadian tourists.
