Crackdown on Drug Trafficking: Marrakech Police Dismantle Cocaine Network

The Gang Fighting Unit of Marrakech's Security Directorate has successfully dismantled a criminal network involved in the trafficking of hard drugs, particularly cocaine. This significant achievement comes as part of the unit's ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes and was made possible through intensive field research and investigations that allowed authorities to identify the suspects and monitor their activities.

The security operation led to the arrest of three individuals suspected of being involved in the distribution of cocaine, along with a fourth person who was identified as a regular customer of the network, frequently purchasing the illicit substance from its members.

Additionally, searches conducted at the residences of the suspects resulted in the seizure of 275 grams of cocaine, along with three electronic scales utilized for weighing and distributing drugs, a box containing sodium bicarbonate, and several small plastic bags intended for packaging and selling the narcotics.

The confiscated items also included a significant amount of cash believed to be proceeds from this criminal activity, a number of mobile phones used for communication and coordination among network members, a rented utility vehicle, and two motorcycles that were employed for the transportation of the arrested individuals.

Under the instructions of the competent public prosecutor's office, the detainees have been placed in custody for further investigation to uncover all potential connections related to this criminal network, prior to being presented to justice for appropriate legal actions according to the applicable regulations.
