Marrakech Short Film Festival Expands Global Reach with 'Best Of' Program

The Marrakech Short Film Festival (MARRAKECHsFF) continues to solidify its presence on the international cinema scene with its mobile program, “Best Of.” This initiative will culminate in a special screening to be held in Paris, France, on June 5, at one of the country's most prestigious cinemas. Since its inception in 2020, MARRAKECHsFF has successfully positioned itself as a dedicated platform for promoting and showcasing short films, focusing on creating spaces for interaction between filmmakers and audiences while encouraging new talents both within Morocco and beyond.

The festival is particularly renowned for its open-air screenings in public spaces and its commitment to facilitating the circulation of cinematic works, ensuring they reach a broader audience. The “MARRAKECHsFF Best Of” program extends this vision by bringing a selection of Moroccan and international short films to various cities and cultural venues, starting from Marrakech and traveling through Palestine, Jordan, Italy, and Casablanca, before concluding its artistic journey in Paris.

The highly anticipated screening will take place at the famous “Grand Action” cinema, featuring the festival team and showcasing a collection of short films that have either won awards or received special mentions in previous editions. Among the films to be presented are 'Under the Feet of My Mother' by director Elias Suhail, 'Milk Brothers' by director Kenza Taazi, 'Lady of the Graves' by Mohamed Alalali, and 'Creeping Birds' by Karim Taj.

The evening will also highlight films produced or supported by the festival, reflecting its ongoing commitment to nurturing young cinematic voices and contributing to the development of new experiences within the realm of short filmmaking. Through this Parisian event, MARRAKECHsFF reaffirms its desire to enhance the international presence of Moroccan and Arab short films, fostering cultural and artistic bridges that connect cinema with audiences across different cities and cultures.

It is worth noting that the sixth edition of the Marrakech Short Film Festival is scheduled to take place from September 25 to 30 in Marrakech, as anticipation builds for the festival to continue its mission of supporting short films and expanding their artistic and cultural influence.
