Massive Cleanliness Initiative in Casablanca for Aïd Al-Adha
On Wednesday, Casablanca witnessed an extraordinary mobilization in celebration of Aïd Al-Adha, with an enhanced strategy implemented to maintain cleanliness across the various neighborhoods of this bustling metropolis. In a concerted effort to manage the waste generated during the holiday, thousands of agents were deployed across the city's sixteen districts. This operation involved a comprehensive fleet, which included specialized trucks, machinery, and equipment dedicated to waste collection, cleaning, washing, and disinfection.
The initiative is spearheaded by the Casablanca Commune in collaboration with the local development company, Casablanca Baia, and involves coordination with local authorities, alongside two delegated companies in the cleanliness sector, Arma and Averda. Dubbed Aïd Al-Adha Nadif 2026, this operation aims to streamline the management of waste produced during this festive period. Additionally, it emphasizes raising awareness among residents about adhering to waste disposal schedules, utilizing designated bags, sorting their waste, and maintaining the cleanliness of public spaces.
Soukaina Fares, the communication manager of Casablanca Baia, shared insights with MAP regarding the extensive awareness campaign that the company has launched in collaboration with various stakeholders. This campaign integrates on-ground actions in the city's prefectures and districts, along with digital outreach to remind citizens of essential practices, particularly the use of designated bags for sacrificial waste.
