French-Algerian Woman Detained at Marrakech Airport for Offensive Social Media Posts

The security authorities at Marrakech Menara Airport took decisive action on Saturday, apprehending a 30-year-old French citizen of Algerian descent. She was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the dissemination of digital content that included offensive remarks about Moroccan citizens, as well as defamation and insults directed at a public institution operating under the law.

According to available information, the suspect allegedly published various posts and videos on her social media accounts that contained derogatory statements about Moroccans. Additionally, she made direct accusations against public officials, alleging bribery and favoritism in relation to their duties associated with traffic law enforcement.

In light of these allegations, the relevant authorities initiated a judicial investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor. This investigation led to the issuance of a national search warrant for the individual in question. She was subsequently detained at Marrakech Menara Airport as she prepared to leave the country on a flight to France.

The suspect has been placed under provisional detention, pending further investigation by the local judicial police in Marrakech. This inquiry aims to uncover all the circumstances surrounding the case and to determine the motivations and background connected to the actions attributed to her.
