The Vibrant Return of Marrakech Fait Son Cirque
From May 29 to 31, 2026, Marrakech will transform into the pulsating heart of circus arts as it hosts the much-anticipated return of "Marrakech Fait Son Cirque." This artistic and cultural event has firmly established itself in the Moroccan and African cultural landscape, growing in popularity and significance with each passing year. Organized by the Collectif Éclats de Lune in collaboration with the Jemaa El Fna Cultural Center and the French Institute of Marrakech, this third edition promises to be a vibrant celebration featuring artists from Morocco, Burkina Faso, and France. The festival will showcase a rich program that combines festive, popular, and socially-engaged performances, workshops, and professional meetings.
The festival aims to create a dialogue between contemporary circus arts and the unique spirit of Marrakech, as well as the dynamic energy of Jemaa El Fna. This historic square, known for its rich oral traditions and street arts, serves as a perfect backdrop for the festival's activities. Marrakech, recognized by UNESCO for its living tradition of popular performance, offers a fertile ground for artistic expressions that are open to the world. The 2026 edition will feature contemporary circus shows, initiation workshops, and professional discussions focusing on the development of circus arts in Africa.
Through this initiative, Marrakech Fait Son Cirque aspires to contribute significantly to the structuring of contemporary circus in Morocco and across the African continent. The festival aims to support artistic creation and foster international cultural collaborations, continuing its mission to enrich the cultural tapestry of the region.
