According to information obtained by the electronic newspaper Hespress, the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) has decided to intensify its preparations and national meetings to assert its strength in the upcoming legislative elections. Internal sources from the political organization indicate that the leadership of PAM is focused on leading the legislative elections in the Marrakech-Safi region, aiming to maintain control over local councils following the upcoming communal elections, particularly the Marrakech-Safi Regional Council.
The same sources highlighted that Samir Kodar, the head of the organization, in coordination with Fatima Zahra Mansouri, the national coordinator, and members of the political bureau, is determined to preserve the party's strength in the region by nominating prominent candidates capable of securing seats in the 2026 legislative elections.
Hespress sources noted that marathon meetings are being held by the party leadership in the region, featuring prominent figures such as Ahmed Touizi, the head of the parliamentary group, and Tarek Hanich, the regional secretary. Additionally, meetings organized by the youth sector across various provinces aim to maintain the organization’s standing and strengthen its influence in the region.
Furthermore, the publication revealed that PAM is pushing several notable national leaders to run in the legislative elections, including Azedine Al-Midaoui, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, who will be placed as the head of the list in Rahmna, and Mohamed Al-Sibari, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, who is set to run in the Gueliz district, alongside other ministers who will contest in different national constituencies. This move underscores the political bureau's efforts to maintain the party's position against other political factions, both in the region where it first emerged and on a national scale.
Additionally, sources indicated that Hicham Al-Mahajri, a member of the political bureau, was acquitted in a high-profile case at the Casablanca Appeals Court, which has bolstered the party's chances in the Marrakech-Safi elections, particularly in the Chichaoua district.
The sources also pointed out that Kodar, regarded as the "dynamo of the party," is meticulously overseeing the nomination process in coordination with Mansouri. He is holding successive meetings with representatives from regional coordinations to select the candidates to be nominated, while also urging coordinators, youth members, and other organizations to encourage citizens to register en masse on the electoral rolls.
It is anticipated that immediately after the Eid al-Adha holiday, meetings will be held with first-tier leaders in PAM to officially announce candidates in districts that have yet to be disclosed.
