Socialist Union Party Reveals Candidates for Upcoming Legislative Elections

Strategic Candidate Selection for Local Circles

The Socialist Union Party has unveiled its list of candidates for the upcoming legislative elections at the local districts, aiming to secure more seats in the House of Representatives. During the National Federal Forum for Candidates and Elected Officials, held in Bouznika on Friday evening, the party presented its lineup, which it believes will position them for a leading role in the forthcoming electoral contests.

In the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region, notable nominations include Hassan Leshkar, the son of the party's Secretary-General, Idriss Leshkar, for the Shale district, while Abdelkarim Benatiq is nominated for the Mohit district. Aicha Al-Kerji has been endorsed for the Kénitra West district, and Hassan Samat will run in the Ben Slimane district. Additionally, Taaha Beyhou is set to contend in the Kénitra area, while Hicham La'asl has been nominated for Sidi Kacem. Khalil Saadi will represent the party in the Skhirat-Témara district, and Rashid Al-Fershiwi is running in the Khemisset district, with Abdul Hafiz Bahizat nominated for the Tiflet-Romani district.

Commitment to Competency and Service

In the Fez-Meknes region, the party has reaffirmed its confidence in current parliamentarian Idriss Shatibi in Sefrou, with Yassine Jawhar nominated for the Northern Fez district, and Banasr Ahrar in Ifrane. The Taza district will see Muhammad Agtio as the candidate, while Omar Ben Sat will represent the party in the Hajeb area. Khalid Al-Zuhair has been nominated in the Taounate district.

The Casablanca-Settat candidates include Ahmed Mahdi Mazwari in Mohammedia, Aicha Al-Kala in Naciri, and Latifa Sharif in Anfa. Meanwhile, Muhammad Bouamri is nominated in Berrechid, Mulay Mahdi Al-Fatimi in El Jadida, and Said Namli in Settat. The party continues its efforts by nominating candidates across various districts including Sidi Ben Nour, Hay Mohammadi, and others, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to its electoral strategy.

Idris Leshkar, the Secretary-General of the Socialist Union Party, emphasized during his speech that 80% of the candidate lists have been finalized for the upcoming legislative elections. He noted that the party is still deliberating on some districts in the southern regions due to existing circumstances, which necessitates a careful approach over the next ten days to two weeks.

Leshkar asserted that the upcoming phase requires not just candidates who can run in the elections, but competencies that are capable of taking responsibility. He highlighted the importance of candidates who understand the concerns of the citizens rather than their own personal interests, advocating for a public mandate that serves the nation. He reiterated that the party prioritizes candidates who possess integrity and efficiency, committed to fulfilling their obligations to the community. The real battle for the party, he concluded, lies not against political opponents but against poverty, vulnerability, regional disparities, unemployment, and restoring public trust, stating, "Our struggle is to make politics a tool for serving the people and to ensure that development is just and equitable."
