Idriss Leshkar, the Secretary-General of the Socialist Union Party, stated during the event that 80% of the candidate lists for the upcoming legislative elections have been finalized. He clarified that while the party has concluded 80% of local constituency nominations, some districts in the southern regions remain undecided.

Leshkar attributed the indecision in southern districts to the prevailing conditions, indicating that this necessitates a cautious approach, requiring an additional ten days to two weeks before finalizing those nominations, with the same reference framework being utilized as the signed records.

Leshkar emphasized that the upcoming phase requires candidates who are not only able to participate in the elections but also possess the necessary competencies to assume responsibilities. He called for individuals who prioritize the concerns of citizens over personal interests, viewing public representation as a service to the nation.

He reiterated that the Union is not seeking merely the most sensational names but rather those capable of genuinely serving the public. He stressed that elected officials from the party should exemplify integrity, efficiency, proximity to citizens, and fidelity to their commitments.

In his address, Leshkar highlighted that the true battle for the unionists is not against political adversaries but rather against poverty, vulnerability, regional disparities, unemployment, and a lack of trust. He stated, "Our mission is to make politics a tool to serve the people and to ensure that development is more equitable and just. The union will remain faithful to its principles, the monarchy, which ensures national stability, and the development project led by His Majesty the King."
